Giving Glassware For Christmas
When selecting glassware for Christmas gifts, you certainly aren’t restricted to buying expensive crystal, or romantic pairs of glasses or flutes that couples will probably have already received as wedding presents. If you have an eye for style, humour or design, there’s a huge range of options available that make fantastic presents.
If you fancy a break from the traditional, or know someone who has taste for modernism in their home, then a set of LSA glasses will fit right at home. With styling and use of materials that is bold in its outlines, these miniature works of art will really stand out on the table and be the perfect extra for a modern lounge or dining room. The “Elina” range for example, is styled as a modern goblet and has a choice of coloured glass for the bulb which contrasts appealingly against the clear stem. Otherwise you could select the “Coro” style, which looks more traditional and yet has an elegant tinted base in various colours or metallic finish to create a lovely finishing touch with any Christmas or celebratory dinner occasion.
For something a little different, the new style of Lolita glasses from the USA is getting more popular, with martini and wine glasses decorated with fun and outlandish patterns, catchphrases and cocktail recipes to make that Friday drink much more entertaining. A good choice for a friend with a sense of humour and a passion for loud colours, these make great items to collect due to their variety – there can literally be a glass for every drink and mood.
Do not panic if the person you are buying for seems to have all the glasses that they already need. After all, what intimate meal at home would be quite the same without candles? When having a candlelit dinner, never skimp on the proper candle holders, or else your eye will be drawn to whatever cheap alternative has been used to hold them. Ensure the evening doesn’t carry the taint of cheap holiday restaurants with their candles stuck in old wine bottles, and choose instead a nice glass, crystal or tea-light holder that will strike the right note, whether it’s for a romantic night in or any other cosy occasion.
