When I implement chanukah decorations in my home, I commence by thinking about what is important on Chanukah.

Dreidel Cake

Use a tablecloth which is green or red to produce the foundation for this look. Napkins can match the placemats or the tablecloth. Then, place a stencil over the middle of the cake using the letter “Gimmel” in Hebrew. Cut out the Gimmel out of construction paper, it doesn’t matter given that you is going to be removing it. Sprinkle colored rainbow sprinkles all over the icing. Remove the stencil and your Gimmel will truly stand out.
The cake is seriously attractive and fun to look at.

Using a white linen cloth for the tablecloth and napkins, you could set the base for this modern look. Placemats need to be black, or you may well go for a much less formal feel by incorporating a black and white style scheme with them.
